Fife Arms Hotel
The Fife Arms Hotel. Situated on the banks of the Cluinie Water, The Fife Arms Hotel (originally called the Hunters' Fife Arms) is believed to have been built in the 19thC by the Duke of Fife for use as a hunting lodge. Over the years, the hotel was sympathetically extended and now dominates the centre of the village. The hotel has 78 bedrooms and boasts a fine lounge which has a magnificent open fire with the original coat of arms of the Duke of Fife above it. In addition to the restaurant, which overlooks The Clunie Water, the hotel also has a coffee shop (serving light lunches) and the bar which also serves evening meals. The hotel is also the centre of village life, having its only public bar, which is open all year round and has Sky sports available, chargeable wifi is available within hotel lounge. What to See and Do - Braemar and its surrounding area is steeped in history dating back to the earliest Kings of Scotland through to the contemporary acquaintance of royalty. It provides a magnificent base for walking and hill-walking and, for winter sports, Braemar is located within a short drive of the Glenshee and Lecht ski resorts. The area also boats a number of excellent tourist attractions such as Balmoral Castle and Mar Estate as well as offering excellent cycling and fishing opportunities.
